Kingfield Galvanizing was honoured to be recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand’s Most Innovative Companies. The prestigious annual list, published by The Australian Financial Review, is based on a rigorous assessment process managed by Australia’s leading innovation consultancy, Inventium, in conjunction with a panel of industry expert judges.

Kingfield Galvanizing ranked 70th on the overall list, from over 1000 nominated organisations across Australia and New Zealand. Specifically, the judges look at how valuable the problem is that the innovation is solving, the quality and uniqueness of the solution, and the level of impact that the innovation has had. Inventium assesses internal elements such as innovation culture, strategy, resources and process, which demonstrate a sustainable and repeatable approach to innovation.

Kingfield Galvanizing is thrilled to be recognised for our plant innovation as the first Hot Dip Galvanizing plant in Australia to integrate plant automation and sustainability. We made the list thanks to exceptional innovation practices. These include our fully enclosed pre-treatment, drying and hot dip galvanizing facilities that prevent emissions from entering the atmosphere; recycling and re-using waste from the galvanizing process; reclaiming heat and reducing energy consumption per tonne of steel galvanized.  We’re excited about the future of sustainable construction and infrastructure development in Australia. Our CEO, Steve Laussen captures it best:

“It took great courage for our major shareholders and Board of Directors to invest in the future and embrace world’s best practice in automation and hot dip galvanizing. It then required an innovative outlook from all our staff to embrace the changes being made and deliver the intended outcomes. This accolade recognizes both the courage and the innovation, but also inspires a sustained approach to continuous improvement”
